I haven’t updated in a while! Everyone knows about our news, but I wanted to go into a little more detail about it! We found out I was pregnant on Christmas Eve.. I took a test a few days before my missed period, because I just had a feeling. My feeling was right, and well, here we are. :) Cody and I usually open one gift from each other on Christmas Eve, but this year seeing as how we didn’t have many gifts for each other, we figured we might as well open the few that we had. The last gift I had for him, was a photo of the positive test (I thought it was less gross than giving him the actual pee stick) stuck as a bookmark in the first chapter of a pregnancy book that a friend had given me a few weeks before. The look on his face was priceless. It was the best gift we could’ve asked for and will surely be a Christmas we will never forget. :)
We kept the secret for a few weeks, and once we told our families, we felt so much better. Only because until then, time seemed to be going by so slowly. Although it was nice to have a secret just between the two of us, we were so thrilled about the news, we couldn’t wait to tell everybody!
Here are a few details that I can remember:
9 Weeks: We had our first appointment, ultrasound and all. We got to hear the heartbeat!!! SO awesome. The doctors were saying how good I looked and asked how I was feeling, and it was nice to be able to say I felt fine except for some nausea on and off starting around 7 weeks. They said I was lucky! At this point my lower abdomen was getting harder and I started having to keep my pants unbuttoned.. which was a little annoying but also exciting.

10 Weeks: A lot of bloating, indigestion, nausea on & off- but usually lasting all day, SUPER tired- I was going to bed around 8:30-9pm every night. Having a hard time staying asleep, really uncomfortable. Lots of peeing, lol. That’s really about it!
11 Weeks: No nausea!!! :) Still very tired. HUNGRY! I’ve been craving mexican food, hot dogs, and potatoes- all kinds (mashed, baked, scalloped, tater tots, fries w/vinegar) Not so healthy, but ehh, it’s not like I’m eating a ton of it. Still having to get up about 2-3 times a night to pee.
In two days I’ll be 12 weeks along! It seems to be going by so fast! I already have a little belly and it’s moved up a bit. Hopefully I won’t have to pee as much now?!? Monday the 27th we go to my 13 week appointment, and are meeting with my actual doctor. Another ultrasound which means more pictures of our peanut! Can’t wait to see how much our babes has grown! Ahh.. I am already in love. :)
